One thing...

But the Lord answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things;
but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41,42

Cease striving and know that I am God;
Psalm 46:10

The lists that I love to keep and check off are good. They help keep me on track and I find a sense of delight in completing items on the list and marking them done.

For true fulfillment though, only one thing is needful. Time with my precious Savior. As the demands on my time and concerns on my heart mount, I find myself seeking my Lord~ meditating on the Word memorized and hidden in my heart, grabbing my Bible and feasting on His Word in small times that I can set aside for Him during my day.

"Mom! Mom! Hey guys, where's Mom?" "Look on the back porch in the sun. She's there reading her Bible." I don't read God's Word or memorize it to gain any "points" or impress anyone. I read, memorize and meditate because I am desperate for Him, passionately in love with Him and I am very aware of my shortcomings and how much I need Him to be the wife and mother that He calls me to be.

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God.
Psalm 42:1

I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
Job 23:12

Seeking Him with you.....
Susan
