Refrigerator Scrabble....

We have had so much fun with this today....

I had an old Scrabble game that was given to us. We are not big Scrabble players, so I originally planned to use the letters on scrapbook pages; then I had the fun idea of putting magnetic tape pieces on the back and putting them on the fridge!

The little boys have had so much fun spelling words. Now if I had given them a piece of paper and asked them to spell..... that would not have been nearly as enjoyable!

I believe that the next time I am at the thrift store I will search for another Scrabble so we can add letters.

Warmly,
Susan

  1. What a great idea! We do Love to play Scrabble around here, but I love the idea of refrigerator scrabble! where did you get the magnetic tape?

  2. Hi Elizabeth! The magnetic tape can be purchased at a craft store like Michaels or JoAnns. The only problem we have run into is that the magnetic tape isn't quite as wide as the Scrabble tiles, so it is easy for the tiles to be knocked off of the refrigerator. Still pretty fun, though!

  4. Hi Susan~
Just wondering if your fridge is Stainless Steel, and do the magnets scratch the finish?
Thanks! I'm still looking for the Scrabble pieces :)

  5. Hi Kathy! Actually our fridge is not SS. It's just an old white refrigerator. Not sure about ss, but the magnets don't scratch our white fridge. Hope you can find some scrabble pieces soon... It's pretty fun!
