Around here...

  • School (only three days to go next week until Christmas break!)
  • Crafting/Decorating for Christmas
  • Finishing planning gifts (almost done!)
  • Enjoying new Great Dane puppy Dude.
  • Generally enjoying this season of wonder. I find myself enchanted by the lights, by the snow and by secrets and giving, but mostly by rejoicing in His birth.
  • Love "catching" my children helping each other... caught Miss Abbie here helping Timmy get ready to go out in the snow. He was *so* excited!
  • But mostly striving to maintain a heart which seeks Him. It is *so* easy for me to get caught up in my "to do lists" and totally loose focus.
One thing I am working on this year to help me maintain focus is working on a "December Daily" album. You can see past examples here and here. I will try to post photos from my work in progress soon.

Oh to anticipate His coming as a child...

savoring the wonder of it all,
susan

  1. WOW! A great dane puppy! Dude! So cute! We have a great dane puppy...Warrior (though I begged to name him Duke). He's HUGE now, and only five months old. Enjoy!

Oh, and I love your new header!

  2. Dear Susan ~ It's lovely to visit you...everything looks so pretty at your home. I really like what you did above your cabinets! :) Your pictures are sweet and really "capture" it all so beautifully. I love the one of your daughter helping your little boy with his mittens...so cute.

    Blessings,
    Camille

  4. Beautiful!

I have to ask how you keep your kitchen so clean?? Especially this time of year! It seems that every time I get mine totally clean, someone starts a new baking project and I'm back to having cookie sheets out everywhere, mixing bowls and cups in the skin, and flour and sugar on the floors and counters . . . .

  5. BusyMomof10, You are so funny! I should have taken a picture of the *other* half of my kitchen! I just moved the mess for a minute! I do like to keep things picked up, but it really doesn't last for long. I'd be sad if my kitchen were perpetually clean. You know, "where there are no oxen, the manger is clean..." Give me a busy and at times messy household any time over the alternative. : )

  6. J, So cool that you have a Dane puppy too! Actually, half of the boys call him Dude and half call him Duke... so we'll see what he ends up with. I'm smitten with him!
