Spring, thrifted.

I

*wish* I could find some "spring" for a good price around here... but it doesn't seem to be available yet.

So I'll have to make due with this.

I've never been much of a fan of fake flowers, but these were super-cheap at a thrift store Abbie and I visited last weekend, so I purchased some spring! It actually bothers me that these flowers would never really be blooming together at the same time.

But I got over it. A long winter will do that to you.

The cool old pail was a Christmas gift from Abbie this year. I love its old farmhouse patina! I kept some pretty pinecones in it until this week when I decided that the pinecones (and cloudy winter days) simply must go!

It doesn't show in the photo, but there are some small rust spots on it that just add to its character, in my opinion.

Dear Spring,

Please quit hiding. We miss you.

Sincerely,
a mom with lots of boys who have endless amounts of energy!

  1. We are also excited for spring here too. Although we just had our biggest snowfall of the season last night and we are all waking up to a beautiful white, snowy morning.
But spring is coming and God is good.
    Warm wishes,
    Tonya

  3. I'm so glad you found some spring! I have that same aversion to fake flowers. In fact when I strolled through Wal-mart yesterday I looked at the fake flower isle and thought to myself "hmmmm, maybe they don't look so bad" :-) Seems we have the same thoughts~

Boys, boundless engergy....yes.....I can totally relate. I long for spring so they can go out and mow the lawn! :-)

    This morning it was -3*....brrrr~

    Lovely spring post~ Cinnamon

There is the true gardener in your statement that it bothers you they would not really be in bloom at the same time...I would never know that! LOL!! Gorgeous...simply gorgeous! In Heaven they will all be in bloom all the time!! Yaay!

Sharon, nice to "meet" you here! Welcome! We are still getting snow here too~ only we don't have the good skiing that you do there in CO! LOL! I think if I lived in CO I'd have trouble getting my work done~ *love* getting out hiking, skiing etc.
