Chapter 46

T

he chapter in which she began to do that which she knew she should.....

What if we could read our lives like a book?

What would the Lord have your next chapter include?

'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.'
Jer. 29:11

What will your next chapter include?  I'd love to hear.....

  1. Not sure what my next chapter will be other than to continue to seek His will and be thankful for my many blessings.

It's amazing to me how unique each chapter and season of life is. Looking forward to see where He take us.

  2. Creative post Susan! Lovely pics as always. :) So...what are you saying? Is the opening sentence about you?? Oh...you asked a question of us ~ hmmmm...just "do the next thing" which usually includes making food, cleaning laundry, training our children, serving the Lord in the "everyday"...what I am called to, by HIS grace.

Have a lovely Lord's Day tomorrow!

    Love,
    Camille

  3. I think I dropped my book in the bathtub a long time ago, because the pages are all stuck together. It takes tremendous patience and determination to tease them apart, one by one, to reveal the next chapter. I do know that the story has been written with God's perfect result and is still in tact- I just have to take it a "page" at a time! :)

  4. ~Laura... I totally agree~ it is *so* exciting to follow Him and see His plan unfold for us!

~Camille~ Actually I was talking to both me and to my readers! I can *so* empathize with Paul when he says "the thing I want to do, I do not do;... but thanks be to God..." How I desire to "write my life" in a way pleasing to Him... by His grace and mercy.

~Lisa~ Yes! I can totally empathize with the "stuck pages." Really. empathize.

How are you feeling? Better, I hope!

Praying that all of you have a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow!

  5. I think part of the fun of a good book is NOT knowing what the next chapter holds...when you are living the story, it is comforting to only read one page at a time. The best part is knowing the Author and knowing His stories always end well!

P.S. I just finished posting about a free Lamplighter download on my blog. It looks like you have been enjoying those great books, too! :)

  6. Hi there, Susan! I agree~ His plans are *so* amazingly fabulous.... so much more than I could ever dream of! I guess I was also referring to my part in that though. I am aware of my "lack of cooperation" though sometimes~ perhaps not being completely obedient in ways that I know He is calling me to~ praying, even eating obediently (and I *don't* mean according to OT rules and regulations! Rather, being faithful to run to Him rather than to food when I am stressed, etc....) Just 'sayin..... just humbly aware of my shortcomings. : )

    and His faithfulness! ; )

  7. Wow, Susan, this is the fifth deep and thought-provoking post this late Saturday evening. What's going on out there??? I'm chuckling because I spent the ENTIRE day in the kitchen just trying to stay on top of the mess (with the exception of cleaning my bathroom). Next chapter??? How about next meal??? You are an inspiration to me, though. Really, you are!
    Blessings and a big hug~

  8. ~Kathy! You are *so* funny! And I can *totally* relate to your feelings.... this post was the result of some middle-of-the-night musings here~ perhaps not the best thing to "run with!" LOL! Anyway... I can relate. really.

    blessings,

  9. Hi Susan, good question!!! Keeping my heart and mind stayed on Him is what He is calling me to right now . . .not responding to the "chaos", listening only to His voice. No one else, and certainly not the voice of my own 'head' LOL, that one gets me in trouble.

Also, I think my next chapter includes focusing more on loving (in the 1 Cor. 13 kind of way) my husband. He lavishes me with his love so freely and I have been convicted that I have become a taker and not a giver so much lately!

Hope you are doing well, love you!!

  10. Michelle... good thoughts. I very much agree about not being distracted by other people's "chapters."

And yes,... I think it all comes down to love. I too get distracted from that. I'm so glad to have such a loving husband (and family too, for that matter).

    Good, good thoughts. Thanks
