Doors and Windows of Europe

Today, for your viewing pleasure, a smorgasbord of doors (and a few windows) from London and Paris!

As I began exploring Europe with Hannah and my parents a few weeks ago I was visually drawn to the beautiful doors. Oh the doors! We simply don't have doors like these in America. (This is in part due to the fact that we don't have many 20 foot ceilings here either, but I digress.)

In hindsight, I should have asked Hannah to get in some of these photos so you could see how imposing these doors are. I'm telling you they are tall... the smaller ones are around 12 feet tall and some are quite a bit larger than that!

And now, presenting, (drumroll please.....) The Doors of Europe!

Of course, I'm a total sucker for window boxes, so I had to throw in a few windows as well. And yes, shutters are super-neat too, especially those with peeling paint!

And finally, as a reward for reading/looking at a post that is so long and obsessive about doors/windows, a funny pic for you. Check out these cuties!

They were spotted in Paris. Can anyone fill me in on why "Ha" was above the windows? (other than to amuse me, of course!)

Is everyone enjoying this? I have more photos from London and Paris to show if I'm not totally boring everyone with my "vacation photos!" And I am serious.... do let me know if enough is enough. Although I suppose that most people who feel that way didn't read this far, did they? LOL!

Rejoicing in Him and the riches of His grace,

  2. The H would be for hotel and the A would be for Alma I would think. Nice pics - not boring at all but very interesting, expecially for those of us who haven't had the opportunity to travel in Europe. Looks like you had a great time!

  9. Me too Me too!! More More More! I am really enjoying seeing your photos. I prefer the window boxes to the doors and I have to agree to your preference to the windows with peeling shutters - very shabby chic!!
