My new chapter? I'm taking on training for a triathlon! (here's another interesting triathlon site.) This is *way* outside of my comfort zone, but when I said "yes" to the opportunity (and faced my fear of the unknown), I found, to my surprise, that I was having fun! (ok, so I'm still more than a little intimidated and scared of some parts of this, but overall I'm having a blast! Plus it keeps me very, very humble.)

It's significantly harder to get strong and fit now, at 46 after having 12 children than it was when I was in my 20s, but so rewarding to begin to "feel good in my own skin" again. In addition to that, (and really higher on my priority list) I have also been blessed to make some new friends that I never would have met otherwise.

Here's to new chapters and
joyfully glorifying God and
learning to depend on Him in new ways,

Wow! Is it ok to say I'm impressed :)? Good for you!

Sooo excited for you!! I bet your kids are so impressed or think you're crazy :-) hee hee
ReplyDeleteIs your Tri going to be in your state of mine? I can't wait to tell my son. I'll have to have him check out those sites.

Very exciting! A new chapter is the right view. This I was told when I was dwelling on being sad about the old chapter closing. (Wrong view).
ReplyDeleteI too am finding myself accomplishing something that seemed daunting. I too am 46, and have had 13 children. I have finally lost 10 pounds, and I run for 30 minutes a day down the woodsy trail. I am finding a new endurance, and this alone time is right for me now.
Congratulations on new goals and the courage and determination to go with it.
Susan,
ReplyDeleteYou are so cool! You have encouraged me time and time again. Once more, I read of you stepping out of your comfort zone and pursuing something awesome. I'm so thankful to get to read your blog. I hope you'll continue to share about this new journey!
Susan...that is GREAT!! I agree with you, it is so rewarding to stretch ourselves. All for HIS GLORY!! May HE bless you in this new endeavour! :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Camille
Hey thanks everybody! I'll try to give periodic updates and let you know how my training is going. I *really* appreciate your encouragement! I know... if the dozen children didn't already have you convinced, this probably does confirm my insanity! But at least I'm happily insane!
