Catching up on Project Life- part 2

Here I am with the second post catching up on my Project Life album!  It always amazes me to see how very much has happened in our plain 'ol ordinary life here in the span of a few weeks!

First up: September 25- Oct.1, 2011
This was a pretty "average" week for us... no super-big stories, but still so, so cool to have a record of life around here.  So many little fun details that I am sure I would not remember if I hadn't picked up the camera and snapped a few pictures.

Here's a close-up of the left side of the week. (that sounded funny... "left side of the week!"  Wow... I think It's been too long since I've been able to exercise...  LOL!)  Anyway....

I decided to include a fun lift-up section so I could tell how the children helped me so a super-huge weeding project in my herb garden in almost no time at all.  They wanted to be silly for one of the photos that I took, so this way I could include both pictures plus the short story.

On the right is a printed copy of our calendar for the past month.  I use and *love* Google calendar, keeping track of not only family events/appts, but also my menu plans, older childrens' schedules, bills, animal care, my workout/training plans, etc.  I think it is fun to have that summary of our life included here too.

Our other "big" event this week was the arrival of 100 cornish cross chickens which we will raise to eat.  We have been doing this for probably 10 years now... *love* having such good organic meat in the freezer for our family!

October 2-8, 2011
This was a really, really full week which included a birthday celebration for Abigail and my grandmother falling and breaking her pelvis.  Honestly a pretty tough week, but here it is, along with some of my thoughts about all that was happening.

I also found out this week that I have another femoral neck stress fracture (a stress fracture in my hip), necessitating 6 + weeks on crutches.  sigh.  As I type this now (11/10/2011) though I am already through the worst of my time on crutches (and subsequent surgery) and am feeling much more optimistic about getting through this, especially since I should be released to swim next week!  Yay!

October 9-15, 2011
I spent almost all of my free time this week visiting my grandmother in hospice with my parents.  I am so glad that I could spend this time with my Nana and my parents.... I honestly have good memories from a very difficult week.

I had to include this cute card that Daniel made for me... I *love* the little things that the children make for me, and I *love* having such a perfect "home" for them.  As much as I enjoy looking through these albums now, I can only imagine how much fun they will be in 20 years or so!

To include this card from Dan, I simply slipped it into an 8 1/2" x 11" page protector and sewed a simple straight stitch next to the edge of his card.  Then I took my handy-dandy paper-trimmer and trimmed the page protector to size.  Pretty sweet!

Oct. 16-22, 2011
The memorial service for my dear Nana was this week and I included a few photos that I took with my iPhone there... I am still thinking that I might go back and include some of the cool photos that I have from her life in this two-page spread.  I would need to use some additional page protectors, but that is the cool thing about 3 ring binders.... it is super-easy to add to it or rearrange things.

October 23-29, 2011
As I have mentioned here before, we have three dogs... don't ask me why.  We'll just say that I collect children and dogs.  Anyway I captured the cutest picture this week one morning when we were having pancakes.  I don't know about you, but our dogs would do anything for a pancake.  Anything!

I glanced over to the sitting area in our kitchen to see this: Jacob being held captive by all three dogs... each one desperately hoping for a pancake handout.  So funny!  And yes, no doubt they all three received at least some part of a pancake.

Anyway, on to this week's layout.

I think this week was the height of autumn color around here.  Usually I take multiple treks outdoors to take photos of the children and the autumn colors, but since I am on crutches this year that didn't happen.  I tried to make the best of things and just captured what I could see from our house... still very nice, I think.

I have to explain the top right photo of me here... the children were teasing me about how strong I've become since I've been swimming so much and using crutches... they decided to take a photo of "my muscles" to text to our oldest son, Nate, who is in the army.  LOL!  Pretty funny!  He was, no doubt, quite impressed.  : )

October 30- November 5, 2011
And here we are at the most recent week that I have completed in my Project Life notebook.  This was a hard week for me as I had surgery, having three screws put into the upper part of my left femur, hopefully taking care of the femoral neck stress fracture that I have.  The first few days weren't very fun at all, but I did manage to snap a few photos and record a few stories that made it into this weeks pages.
