A little of this, a little of that...

Around here lately I've been doing some of this:

In the middle of recovering a very worn out ottoman.  Here's what it looks like now,

soon to have three big ruffles added!  This was my Pinterest inspiration:

Abbie decided to make her own denim version of my ruffled messenger bag~ it turned out adorable!

The boys have been doing a lot of this: (it's warm by the wood stove!)

And the dogs have been being cute like this!  Aren't Corgis the cutest things evah?

We are taking this week off from school... lots of cooking/baking and general merriment going on here...  I have even broken my cardinal rule and decided that I was in the mood for Christmas music before Thanksgiving this year.  When Tom is home we keep it down, but when he's not, let's just say we have a rockin' good time in the kitchen with my iPod! And even the crutches don't slow me down too much!  : )

Tomorrow is D-day for the chickens and turkeys here... and that's always fun, at least for us!  LOL!  I've been out of chicken in the freezer for several months now, so I'm looking forward to having lots of poultry to cook with~ just in time for some chicken soup! mmmmm.....

Hope you are having a fab week too!

  2. Thanks Michael! I am gradually improving~ swimming now with a pull buoy and I get to drop that in a week and add aqua-running. Three more weeks on crutches…. We're busy, so that should pass quickly. Hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!

  3. Hi Susan, I am so loving burlap right now! I made two wreaths over the weekend, one, I covered a pool noodle made wreath with drop cloth strips (drop cloth is way cheaper than the fabric) and put burlap bow and burlap flowers. the other i am making a burlap tie wreath with drop cloth roses. I love the off white and burlap. Beautiful job on your project. Hugs!!

  5. ~Michelle, your wreaths sound lovely! I'm looking for a good deal on burlap as well~ so many cute projects are made with it now! And of course, you already know what a big fan of drop cloths I am! LOL!

~Linda, I'm *so* glad that you have this week off~ I'll bet your sewing room is lovely! A friend came to help us butcher our chickens and turkeys yesterday... she brought some fabric for the girls and I to use. Guess who's fabric was included in the batch? Yours! So fun! I'm telling the children~ "Hey! I know the woman who designed this fabric!" I feel like I know someone famous! LOL!

  7. You've got lots of stuff going on. I just LOVE that ottoman...and I think it will look fabulous with big, fluffy romantic ruffles ;) :) Everything is good with ruffles :)

Oh, I really like the quilt that is hanging on the wall, to the right of your ottoman. Also, I was curious about your iPod? Do you like it? does it work just as well as an iPhone? I'm saving up for either an iPod or an iPhone. I'm thinking the iPod is a better option, because I already have wifi at my house :)

Have a great day. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

  9. Hey there Heather!

I do love my iPod! An iPhone, of course, does a lot more than an iPod, but depending on which iPod you choose, you can actually do more with an iPod than just play music. The iPod touch is sorta like an iPhone, minus the phone. It plays music, has a camera and apps, etc. I *love* having music in the house.

I'll bet Oregon is beautiful this time of year! Do you live near the ocean Heather?

    Have a wonderful weekend!
