Random thoughts...

Well, it turned out that there was a mix-up and my Dr. wants me to see him next Tuesday instead of today… sigh.  So, one more week on crutches… Heather, I *loved* your idea to "bling" out my crutches!  I'm thinking some tinsel and perhaps a strand of battery-powered lights for each crutch.  Wouldn't that be funny?!!  Anyone have any "bling" to donate to a good cause?  ; )

I recently came across three articles that you might enjoy….

First up, a very thought-provoking article explaining what happened when a successful businessman and school board member agreed to take the same standardized tests that 10th grade students were required to pass in his school district.  An interesting read, for sure.

Second, a heart-warming article in which siblings recall the blessings of being raised in a family of 17 children!  Fabulous!

And last, a list of the 5 best toys of all time for children… I heartily endorse all of the toys mentioned here.  You'll *love* this!

Thank you *so* much for all of the kind and thoughtful comments and personal emails to my post about our dear Lance.  You'll never know how much I appreciate your friendship!

Rejoicing even though I'm *still* (9 weeks and counting!) on crutches here,

  1. I know, I loved the post about gifts too. Just read that article on the large family. Awesome. Thanks for sharing these things!

Hoping you lose the crutches soon and get a clean bill of health. You inspire us, girl!

  2. I'm going to check out those articles you posted :) :) Oh, use whatever you want for the crutches. You might try yardsales, because I've been seeing lots of Christmas stuff at yardsales..I'd do lots of glitter, or get some sparkly fabric and wrap it around your crutches :) :) Then you can reused the fabric later, when you are OFF the crutches :) :) Have a great day. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

  3. Thank you for the link to the large family article. It's always refreshing to hear from children who praise being part of a big family instead of complain about it.
